Alistair (Ali) Harriss brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience to his role as Director of Airborne Construction, the construction arm of National Design and Build. Over the past 12+ years, he has successfully led projects as a company director, multi-site project manager, and site supervisor, overseeing complex builds across healthcare, commercial, and residential sectors. With a proven record of delivering projects on time and with a strong client focus, Ali and his team operate within a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

In addition to his construction expertise, Ali has spent 20 years as a professional airline pilot with British Airways, where he has flown some of the world’s largest and most advanced aircraft, including the iconic Airbus A380. This career has instilled in him the highest standards of precision, discipline, leadership, and teamwork—qualities that directly inform his approach to managing high-value construction projects.

Ali also draws on his experience as a medical practice company owner, giving him first-hand insight into the operational and regulatory requirements of healthcare environments. His knowledge of NHS, CQC, RPA, and patient-centered standards allows him to deliver projects tailored to the specific needs of medical clients, including GP practices, dental surgeries, hospitals, medical centres, and surgical theatres. Under his leadership, Airborne Construction has consistently delivered specialist medical projects on time, on budget, and to exacting standards.
